Is Transcribe It Free really free?
Yes. The Free plan lets you transcribe up to 20 minutes of audio per file, with up to 5 files per day. Free transcripts are stored for 7 days. Upgrade to Premium ($4.99/mo or $39.99/yr) to keep them as long as you stay subscribed, get 2-year audio retention, remove ads, and unlock 4-hour uploads.
Which languages are supported?
All 99 spoken languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese and Portuguese — both for transcription and translation.
Do you offer an API?
Yes — a JSON REST API with a free Developer tier (100 requests/month) and paid tiers from $19/mo. See the /api-docs page.
What file types are supported?
MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, WebM and most other audio/video formats. Files on the Free plan are deleted after 7 days; Premium keeps audio for 2 years.
How accurate is the output?
We benchmark above 95% word accuracy for clean English audio and well over 90% for the long tail of supported languages. Quality scales with audio quality — turn on “Clean noisy audio” if your source is messy.
